Dr. Giorgos Dimitriou, Director of the Circular Economy Research Center at ENPC, participated in the Circular Economy Symposium that took place at Harvard in Boston on March 6, 2020. The Symposium introduces participants to crucial circular economy concepts and case studies, explore linkages to finance, policy and business processes, and help forge connections across sectors to jumpstart the transition to a more sustainable system.
Dr. Dimitriou spoke in the debate around policy and regulation, giving traction to circular markets. The discussion focused on the policy and legal components that need to be in place to allow used materials to flow back into the economy, reducing impacts on nature related to extraction and disposal. The panel brought together leading academics, policymakers, and practitioners on where they stand on the future of policy and regulation. Dr. Dimitriou provided different insides on cutting edge research in the domain.
During the networking session, Dr. Hernan Ruiz and MSc Vlatka Katusic put I-BiDaaS in the spotlight, and presented the project and shared their hands-on experience in the development of an Industrial-Driven Big Data as a Self-Service Solution.
